Someday we may all have these abilities at our disposal, genetic engineering is a relatively new science. Whether that would be ethical is another question. Here are some real-life mutations that people can have with many benefits and seemingly not many detriments.

Television's "Taxi" actress Marilu Henner no longer hides her highly superior autobiographical memory (HSAM). Her brain is like the NSA recording everything on the internet, running every waking moment, nonstop data collection that is always filed neatly away for later recall. It can not and will not stop... it's like Alzheimer's disease in reverse!

She can remember thousands of specific details from every single day of her life since the ability "switched on". She was, as the other 15 or so people in the world with this condition also report, suddenly beset with the ability one day when she was 11 years old. Since then, she remembers the date, who she met, the circumstances, the weather, and much more.

There are only about a dozen or fewer known savants like her of the seven billion people in the world. If there are more, they probably want to hide the ability, or perhaps they must hide it because they are spies. Dang great spies. They don't even need hidden cameras. Just a distress radio and maybe a Walther PPK pistol. Maybe one of those MI6 spy pens too. Don't worry, she'll remember what it does when you click it three times.

A real-life Ice Man. No he can't project cold telekinetically or freeze moisture from the air like "Frozone" from The Incredibles.

But let us talk about what this guy CAN do that 99.999999% of the human population could never do!.

Dude swims in a regular swimsuit- alongside seals under the arctic ice. Yeah, I know a guy who did that wearing his "drysuit" and he froze his a&$ off in the process. He'd never consider doing it even for 10 minutes in one or even two wetsuits. Wim Hof does it with little more than a "Speedo" on. How? We don't know. He says it's the power of the mind.

He has one of the best superhuman abilities, it's so rare it's unique, and a power that's both mental and physical that combines to aid survival without known side-effects.

Some people are born without a myostatin protein. Whether genetic or medically blocked, people like Liam Hoekstra look like bodybuilders without body building already at a young age. It's a mis-appropriation of resources that is mostly beneficial in today's society. In the late 90's scientists discovered the trick of “switching off” the Myostatin protein. So much for the bodybuilding ads of high protein powders I guess. If you just turn off the protein’s signaling ability, your cells will make you look like the next pro wrestler. Visual Memory and artistic ability. This guy can take one look, and then draw such detail that would take anyone else so many hours just to outline.

Case in point, he never saw the New York Skyline from a certain angle from above, but after one quick helicopter flight he drew this amazing picture. Even the number of windows on buildings and other more subtle architectural details were captured in a matter of minutes. Amazing!
